Sixty-five athletes from Bates College have received New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic distinction for the winter 2016 season.

Select students have been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Ohio Wesleyan University held its 171st commencement ceremony on May 10, 2015. The OWU Class of 2015 included 350 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with 62 cum laude, 20 magna cum laude, and 20 summa cum laude honorees. In Commencement exercises on May 19, 2015, FDU conferred degrees, ranging from associates to doctorates, on over 3,000 graduates, at MetLife Stadium.

In a ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2015, over 400 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Spring Commencement. The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was U.S. Senator Michael Bennet.

The largest graduating class in WPI's history, 1,680 students, received their degrees beneath a large, billowing tent that shielded graduates and well-wishers from the sun that occasionally peeked from behind generally cloudy skies. In all, the Institute awarded 956 bachelor's degrees, 682 master's degrees, and 42 PhDs during its 147th Commencement exercises.

The tradition of the nursing pin and the ceremonial pinning originated in the 1860's at the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London. Having been recently awarded The Red Cross of St. George for her selfless service to the injured and dying in the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale chose to extend the honor to her most outstanding graduate nurses by presenting each of them with a medal for excellence. The pin presented is both beautiful and symbolic. It has been both literally and symbolically a cross to bear, a medal of honor, and a badge of courage.
